America’s reality TV star, Jason Mesnick and his partner Molly Malaney of The Bachelor fame, have become engaged during a romantic return visit to New Zealand. The couple, who filmed two episodes of the show in New Zealand earlier this year, announced their decision at the very place they got together – Queenstown in the South Island.

Queenstown unscathed by earthquake
Thursday, 16-Jul-2009Queenstowners were amongst the hordes of New Zealanders to feel one of the country’s largest recorded earthquakes despite no damage being reported in the town.
The 7.8-magnitude quake, which was centred about 90km from Tuatapere in the South Island, struck at 9.22pm last night (Wednesday) but has caused only minimal damage throughout the island.
